– Olena specialises on the life-cycle and taxonomy of digeneans in birds. Currently, she is focusing on the diversity of Diplostomum spp. in fish populations, applying molecular diagnostics and morphological characterisation to large samples of metacercariae in fish species from the River Danube. Her studies will contribute to the completion of a database for morphological and molecular identification of Diplostomum spp. larval stages in European freshwater fishes.
